Youth Mission Scholarship
Fund Guidelines
The Scholarship is available
for Missions trips as determined by the following guidelines.
Applicants:
1. Must
be members of or attend an Indiana Yearly Meeting Local Meeting. Membership is not required.
2. Age: Ninth Graders through College.
3. The projects or
missions trip for which the applicant is requesting the scholarship will include Friends
works, but will not be
restricted only to Friends projects.
Application:
I. Those
desiring to apply for scholarship money will need to submit a one page essay
articulating the reasons why they want to go and what they would want to learn
from the experience. The following
information must be included:
Applicants: Name, Age, Address, Phone Number, Local
Friends Meeting, Pastor’s name.
Description of project: Define the purpose, goals, plans, etc.
Name of mission and
organization you are sponsored by.
Amount of total funds
needed.
Dates of the Mission.

Application
must include a letter of recommendation from the Pastor of the Meeting they
attend.
3. Application should be made 6-8 weeks before their particular
trip. Deadlines for applications
will be February 1 for Spring trips, and May 20 for Summer and Fall trips. The scholarship will be made on
a percentage basis determined by the committee up to a maximum
of $250.00. Funds are limited so apply
as early as possible.

By
accepting the scholarship, the applicant agrees to the following terms:

To
prepare and send to the Scholarship committee a report on their
experience. The report must be turned
in 30 days following the return from the trip.
¨
To
return funds granted if the applicant does not complete the mission.
The Scholarship Committee includes the Missions Clerk, the Christian Education Clerk, the Youth Ministry Sub-Committee Clerk, and the Assistant Superintendent.
