Committee Reports
Evangelism
and Outreach
The Evangelism and Outreach Committee
continues to seek ways to promote evangelism in the local meeting. We want
to encourage and help each meeting that expresses a need.
This committee operates with three
subcommittees:
1. Growth Grant, Mary Glenn Hadley,
clerk
2. Pastors’ Short Course, Ronn Oren,
clerk
3. Dayspring Project, Darrell Smith,
clerk
The Growth Grant Subcommittee recommended
awarding Growth Grants of $2,000 or less, depending on their request, to
Bethel Friends, Liberty Friends, Maple Run Friends, Sycamore Friends,
Farmland Friends, and Anderson Friends. These Growth Grants were approved
by the committee.
Pastors’ Short Course speakers this
year are David and Karen Mains of "Chapel of Air" radio. Also,
there will be four workshops held during Short Course. They are:
1. Power of Intercession, Lou
Herchenroeder
2. Personal Worship, Jack
Holliday
3. The Pastor as a Person, Alan
Weinacht
4. Integrating the Bible into Lives,
John Keys
This is always a time of learning and
relaxation for our pastors and their families.
We received a request from Upland Friends
for funds to help with their Youth Ministry Program. Ronn Oren and Leah
Joyce Hubbard met with them concerning their request. They recommended
that we approve Upland Friends’ request. The committee approved
financial help of $8,000 for one year.
In January, Dayspring Friends sent a
letter to E&O stating their desire to return to a monthly meeting.
They requested that we no longer help them with any financial aid. They
also returned $2,500 we had allocated for them to use for teaching
material and material for their music program.
New officers for next year are:
Ronn Oren, clerk
Mary Glenn Hadley, assistant clerk
Katrina Cooper, recording clerk
Leah Joyce Hubbard, assistant recording
clerk
A big thanks to Darrell Smith for his
faithful service on E&O.
Jack Holliday, Clerk
